7 weeks left before Lima Bean's appearance!

I fixed the images of our new Congerville house on 9-1 below; some were not opening the full size image when clicked.

And here are some newer inside pictures of the new Congerville house before we started upgrading!

This is the dining room with one of the 3 patio doors

And here is how helpful the dogs were!

Master Bedroom with patio door

1st extra bedroom (going to be lima beans room)

2nd extra bedroom (playroom ?)

Extra bathroom (soon to be the kermit the frog bathroom)

Hallway from the living room down to the 3 bedrooms, den and kermit bathroom

The front door entrance and the living room

New Sonagram pictures today

These first 3 are side profiles of lima bean's head.
We watched lima try to suck his/her thumb over and over....lima's hand was always by his/her face!

We are in negotiations to buy a house out in the country by Congerville on 2 acres.

Don't have any pictures of the inside but just imagine 70's decorations to the extreme; wood paneling, shag carpets and very colorful bathrooms and kitchens (blood red, puke green, yicky yellow and baby butt blue).

And here are some outside pictures Tony took at the home inspection today.

This is the view across from the house

Here is the front of the house

Here is the backyard and deck

And this is all the side yard with the playground

This is a neat bridge he found on a road close to the house

20 week sonagram is next week so I will put up more pictures of lima bean then.

But here is the lima bean bump at 17 weeks:

And boy have we have had a busy summer!

Tony bought a new Harley....a low rider....

HyperLink

We went to Wisconsin and took a tour of Miller Brewing (and saw my cousin graduate high school).

HyperLink

We hung out in Chicago for the Blues festival but mostly walked around Millenium Park and tried to take pictures of sky scrapers and flowers together.

5-12-06

Stained glass update.

Tony set me up a workbench to do my stained glass on!
HyperLink

I have all the glass pieces wrapped in foil and cut/ground down so that they fit together.

Then I started soldering all the foil.  In the picture below the left side of the butterfly is soldered while the right side isn't.

And here is the finished product.  I might get a frame to put it in but I haven't decided yet.

4-29-06

I've been bad and haven't updated my stained glass progression. Sorry!

I cut all the pieces out over the last 2 weeks and now I can get a reprieve from my arms aching all the time.

We just learned how to foil the glass pieces last class so that is what I will be completing over the next 2 weeks.

Here you can see the first few pices I foiled; it really makes the glass and the colors I picked look neat!

HyperLink

4-7-06

Figured it would be neat to show picture by picture progression of my new project.  So here goes!

Here is the project I picked
HyperLink

Here is my pencil drawing of the design.  We put the design in a projector and I traced it onto the paper and then cleaned it up a bit.HyperLink

Then I gave each piece a number (118 pieces total)

HyperLink

Next I layed tracing paper on top of my drawing and traced it through.

HyperLink

Next I mounted my tracing on my work board.

HyperLink

Then I decided to mock up which color options I was thinking about
HyperLink I decided on Option #1 and went and bought all my glass.

And I still have to color code my drawing and then cut out all my pattern pieces.

Then next week I will start cutting glass!

4-3-06 - We have been enjoying the warm weather these last couple of days!  Have to start thinking about what to put in the garden this year.

Tony's job is good; he sometimes has to work at night or on the weekend but not too often.

Heidi has a week off before she starts her new job.  Time to do some spring cleaning!

Dogs are lovin the warm weather.  Hershey is up to 17 pounds!  At his sickest he was only 11 pounds so he seems huge now.

3-15-06 - Heidi is done with her stained glass class.  Here is her finished project

3-7-06 - We bought a new domain name as we needed more space for our site.

Tony's job at CAT is going good; he is very busy but learning a lot.

Hershey was released from University of Illinois this last appointment.  So now we just hope the creeping crud doesn't come back!

Heidi's stained glass class is almost over so we will post a picture of her project when it is done.

2-12-06 -  Tony has graduated ISU with a Bachelors of Science in Telecommunications.  He has accepted a position at CAT in East Peoria installing IP telephones, switches and routers.  He absolutely loves his new job!

Hershey is much better but still under the care of University of Illinois and still taking Ivermectin daily.

Budah is still himself and tries to see what he can get away with and is always begging for human food!

Heidi took a cruise with a couple of girl friends the first of the year; pictures will be up shortly.

Plus Heidi has started a Stained Glass class in Bloomington and will be making her first glass project shortly.

We signed up for XM satellite radio at Christmas time and love having commercial free radio at our fingertips.

Other than that; Life keeps marching on......

8-20-04 - Had a drunk driver take his truck on a cruise through my uncles corn field.  Word is they finally found the guy in Kappa, IL.  How is that for stupid things happening in a small town??!!

8-10-04 - Tony is finished redoing our hardwood floors! Every room except the bathroom and kitchen has been sanded, varnished and polyurethane. It looks like we have a new house! All said and done we spent less than 500 dollars but it took a lot of Tony's time.

Another of Heidi's coworkers from AFFINA started at PII. Just funny how we end up at the same company!

Tony starts back to ISU in a couple of weeks. We might be able to ride together to Bloomington a couple of times a week. So that will save a couple of dollars a week in gas.

Had the Hinkle reunion in Kentucky last weekend. Got to see all our cool relatives and have a blast getting caught up on all the gossip.  Pictures will be up shortly

Summer is almost over already. It already seems like fall with all the cool weather we are having!

7-25-04 - Finally got a good garden going! Just this week we started having sweet corn that was ready. We have also had some potatoes and onions from time to time. Peas were done about a month ago, so no more of those. And then just yesterday I had 4 cantaloupe turn ready. Boy are they good! It really makes me happy to realize when we are eating supper that the only thing we spent any money on was the meat! Yah to gardens!

7-17-04 - Figured I could put up some links to news sites with pictures of the tornado.
The PJStar's coverage of the tornado
The Pantagraphs photo coverage
MSNBC Coverage and pictures

7-10-04 - Had to put up this picture! Tony's computer was making funny noises and when he went to investigate and this is what he found . His favorite game had broken into a million pieces inside his cd-rom/cd burner. So we went out today to get a replacement and came back with a DVD and cd rom burner. We are finally up on technology except the blank DVD's are quite expensive!

7-8-04 - Been living in Bloomington while dog sitting for some of our friends while they were on their honeymoon. Finally got back home late last night. Don't think we are too interested in being city dwellers yet! It was a nice neighborhood and we took the dogs on lots of walks but no one has very much yard space and there are just cars and people everywhere. We were staying in a condo so we were always worried about being too loud for the neighbor! Heidi's drive into work was only 12 minutes though, but her gas mileage sucked with all the city driving. We did have all kinds of good food since there were tons of choices! So I think we will stick with our little humble abode itimbuktuwo! :)

5-21-04 - Life is going pretty good now (finally). Heidi is settling into her job nicely and waiting to finally be a 'real' employee instead of a temp. Tony is back in college for the summer. The dogs are back to chasing each other around the house for hours on end which can only mean one thing, Hershey must be feeling better!

Tony will be working at the Joliet Speedway this weekend. He has really been looking forward to it. He gets paid but his wages will be donated to the town of Minonk as part of their fundraising. It sounds like a cool idea to raise money but still have tons of fun! He works both Saturday and Sunday for the NHRA racing and once he is done working (6 am to 1 pm) he can stay to watch the rest of the racing. How cool is that??

5-14-04 - Hershey is finally getting better. He has been shaved down almost completely. You can definitely tell how closely Shih-Tzu's are related to Pugs. His face looks exactly like a pugs but with his fuzzy fur all over. Hershey's vet did skin scrapings on him last week (another $100 spent) and found out he has something that requires a Mitoban dip (sp). He also has yeast growing on his paws and a staph infection on his belly. So they dipped him at the vets and we can tell he is getting better already

Garage sale is tomorrow (it got rained out today) so hopefully we sell all kinds of stuff/junk.

Heidi loves her job. :) There are a couple of people from her graduating class that also work there as well as a neighbor/friend. Everyone is nice, management too. Seems like one big happy family!

Also, Tony's summer class starts next week. So we are back to being busy and on the go every day.

We also realized we have something on every weekend for the next two months. Ya for summer!

5-9-04 - Heidi got a job!! She starts tomorrow (Monday) and works 8-5 M-F. The job is through Manpower and is for 30 days. She will be working at Progressive Impressions International (PII) in Bloomington, IL.

Also, we will be having a garage sale next Friday (14th) and Saturday (15th) from 8-4 both days. It will include our stuff as well as our respective mothers stuff. Here is the garage sale flyer if you would like to see what we will be offering.

5-2-04 - The Harley has been sold!! Yah!! Guy that bought it even brought a trailer when he came to look at it, so that shows you how serious he was about buying it!

Hershey is still sick. His rash is still really bad and he still lays around all day. We haven't gotten him switched to his new food yet either because he seems to absolutely hate it!! He went on a 3 day no food strike because I would only offer him the new food with some of his old food mixed in. And now I'm giving him mostly his old food with a little new food and he is picking out each piece of new food and making a pile of them beside his food bowl. So if anyone thinks dogs are stupid I got news for ya!!

4-28-04 - Poor Hershey is sick, yet again. He has had recurrent skin infections almost since the first day we brought him home (first vet visit was on 6-14-03 and he is only a year and half old now). All that nasty stuff on his skin is back again. He has a zillion little oozing pimples on his lower belly (the hairless part), his eyes are oozing green stuff, his face/muzzle has some more of the oozy sores and all his paws are swollen, red and hurt so he sucks them all day and doesn't like to walk. So he lays on the puppy pillow I made for him and I have to carry him everywhere so he is always beside me and bring him to his food and water bowls because otherwise he doesn't try to eat/drink.

The doctors have already gone through all the steroids and antibiotics he can be on: A bunch of Mitaban dips.
A shot of Neopuff (1 oz)
14 doses of Lincocin (100 mg)
14 doses of Cephalexin (250 mg)
Another round of 30 doses of Cephalexin (250 mg)
And lastly 10 doses of Zeniquin (25 mg).
Also, we have been using Sebolux shampoo every ten days and also covering his nose with Neo-Predef medicated powder so he doesn't get an infection there again.

At that point we had already spend $220 dollars fighting skin infections.

Now after the latest vet visit we need to add another $100 to that total!

But this time the veterinarian is going the Allergies route which is new to us and hopefully will work! So he got some more drugs to try:
24 doses of Clavamox (125 mg)
Campbell ear drops because he has yeastiness in his ears
KetoChor soap/shampoo to use 2 times a week
New puppy food that is specially made for sensitive dogs: Eukanuba Veterinary Diet Nutritional Skin and Coat Formula Response FP with Fish and Potatoes (read: expensive stuff)
And we are giving him chewable grape children's Benadryl twice a day.
Plus we need to keep using the Neo-Predef on his nose and muzzle to help it heal/fight the infection..

So now we have a drugged up sick puppy....which translates to a pathetic looking puppy. Poor Hershey, hopefully he starts feeling better soon!

Here is sickly Hershey, see his pink cheeks and pink belly??:

4-23-04 - New Hershey and Budah Hinkle pictures!!

Hershey - 1 yr 5 mo

Budah Hinkle - 2 yrs 5 mo

4-22-04 - New website, yet again.  We will see how it goes!

To get you up to date on our lives we begin with Tony leaving his job at OSF the first week of January to finish his four year degree.  So he is now a full time college student at Illinois State University studying computer telecommunications (networking).  He should be finished with his four year degree sometime next year.

Then Heidi was laid off from AFFINA on Feb 13th.  She is still continuing to look for a computer programming job while collecting unemployment.

Also, the same week Heidi was laid off Tonys Grandpa Ehlers passed away.  So that was a very rough week for us!

Now on to the puppies and their pictures:

The two puppies are fun as always and have finally stopped growing.  Buddha is 2 years old and is 15 pounds and Hershey is 1 year old and is about 13 pounds.  They are actually pretty big for Shih-Tzus!!  So if you are looking for any small/toy breed dogs we highly recommend Merry Dawn Kennels in Minonk.
