Can't believe I am not out with all the crazy black friday shoppers but I didn't
want to take Tucker out in the cold with me.
We had a good Turkey day and enjoyed spending time with family. Tucker takes
a bit to warm up to people but once he does anyone can hold him. His funny
faces made people laugh!
Tony is off on his 3-wheelin trip to missouri with all his friends. So Tucker,
the dogs and I have the house to ourselves this weekend.
I updated
Tuckers page
with more current pictures. He is changing so fast right now as he figures
new things out.

Tucker just had his 4 month checkup and shots. He was such a trooper; I was
planning on nursing him right after then shots but he was all calmed down.
He even slept all the way back to Congerville!
See tuckers page for his updated stats and a few more pictures.

FYI - I started a page just for Tucker updates.

Tucker had his one month Dr. appointment.
He is now 10 lb 11 oz and 21 and 1/2 inches long. And I was worried he wasn't
getting enough to eat, silly me!
I go back to work in 2 short weeks! Tony is going to stay home for another
2 weeks after that though and then Tucker will go to daycare.

Tucker John Hinkle made his appearance on January 19, 2007 at 10:51 am. He
was 7 lb 2 oz and 21 inches long.
Heidi ended up having an emergency c-section. Her labor started about 10:30
pm on Tursday (1-28) with 30-45 second contractions that were about a minute and
1/2 apart. They stayed that way all the way until the c-section. We
headed to the hospital at 6 am and she was in the labor and delivery room by 7 am
and they broke her water shortly after and ther was meconium in it. Epidural
was finally hooked up at 10 am but by 10:15 am the babies heart rate was dropping
after each contraction (it had actually been doing that for over an hour but we
didn't catch it on the monitors but the nurses and our doctor were already watching
closely). They tried changing Heidi's position and putting her on her right
side and putting an oxygen mask on her but it didn't help the baby. So the
nurse came in about 10:30 and said they would need to do an emergency c-section
as the baby was not tolerating labor.
As soon as Tony was in the operating room they started cutting and had Tucker out
pretty quickly and he was crying very loud and strong. His apgars were 8 and
9 so he was ok.
We were discharged from the hospital on Monday 1-22 and mom and baby have only ventured
out 3 times so far; 2 times for mommys Dr's appointments and once for Tuckers appointment.
C-section is healing nicely. Heidi just wished we didn't have soo many stairs
in our house when she first came home as she either had to go upstairs or downstairs
to get to the bathroom!
Breasfeeding is going so-so. Mommy is still hurting when Tucker first latches
on and is just generally achey and sore but still has pain medication from the c-seciton
to take!
Tucker is cute as all get out (aren't all babies?!!) He still prefers sleeping
in 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hour increments durring the day and one 5 hour streatch at night.
We aren't sure if that is just because mommy is still on pain medication though.
He mainly just cries when he needs fed and is otherwise content and awake or goes
back to sleep.
Since we are on dial up internet it will be a bit before pictures are up.
We may just take the laptop to Panera and use their free WI-FI to upload the pictures!
